Yes. Like all solid surface materials, it can develop scratches during daily use. However, because the material is full body, throughout its thickness, most scratches can be removed by sanding and polishing, making it one of the easiest countertop materials to repair. Quartz or granite cannot be repaired as easily.

With proper care, it can last more than 10 years or even longer. Unlike laminated surfaces, it can be renewed multiple times through refinishing, allowing it to maintain its appearance after years of use.

Yes, one of the greatest advantages of Solid Surface is that it is 100% renewable. Unlike quartz or natural stone, Solid Surface has a homogenous composition, meaning the color and pattern run all the way through the material. Minor scratches and scorch marks can be easily buffed out using a mild abrasive pad (like Scotch-Brite) or fine-grit sandpaper. Deep gashes can even be seamlessly repaired by a professional using a matching piece of material.

Solid Surface has good heat resistance, but you should ALWAYS use a trivet or hot pad. While it complies with industry standards for heat exposure, direct contact with extremely hot cookware (above 100°C / 212°F) straight from the stove or oven can cause the acrylic resins to warp, crack, or discolor. Always place hot pots, pans, or heat-generating appliances (like air fryers or slow cookers) on a protective surface.

Yes. When installed, individual pieces are joined using a special color-matched adhesive, creating an inconspicuous, seamless look. Because there are no visible joints, grout lines, or seams, dirt, grime, and moisture have nowhere to hide. Combined with its completely non-porous nature, Solid Surface does not support the growth of mold, mildew, or bacteria, making it one of the most hygienic options for kitchens and healthcare environments.

Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, particularly paint removers and strong acids. Products containing acetone (such as nail polish removers), methylene chloride, oven cleaners, or heavy-duty drain openers can chemically damage the surface finish. If any of these chemicals accidentally come into contact with your countertop, rinse the area immediately and thoroughly with soapy water.

Yes, you should never chop or cut food directly on a Solid Surface. Compared to quartz or granite, Solid Surface is a softer material and will easily show knife scratches. While these scratches can be sanded down and repaired later, it is always recommended to use a dedicated cutting board to keep your countertop looking flawless and to protect your knives from dulling.
